Cool Bluetooth Phone Tricks

Christian Cantrell's blog entry about the Danger Sidekick 2 made me realize I never shared how happy I am with my new Sony Ericsson T610 phone. I think this phone's a bit old at this point but I got a great deal on it so I decided to upgrade from my old Nokia 6600. The coolest feature to me is the Bluetooth integration with iSync on the Mac for the address book and the phone book, but it doesn't stop there!

The other night at the DFW CFUG meeting I used the phone as my "clicker" for my Keynote presentation, and it worked like a champ. Very nice to be able to get away from the mouse and not buy a dedicated clicker device. You can also control a lot of other software (iTunes for example) via Bluetooth, so this is very cool. I'm using a program called Romeo to do this and it works extremely well.

I'm not a big camera phone advocate, but now that I have one I must admit that it's pretty handy, and sending pictures via Bluetooth to the Mac is a snap. Using the built-in Bluetooth navigator in Mac OS X you can access the phone's directories directly and just grab the pictures you want. The fact that this "just works" with no additional configuration or software installations is very impressive. Let's see a PC do that! ;-)

Can you tell me how you did that? I am trying with my T610, but can't get it to work

I haven't had the T610 for a very long time, so I'm afraid I can't be of much help. When last I was using it the Romeo software just worked. Sorry!

Well, I was thinking how can I use my cellphone which has bluetooth as a speaker for my computer which also has got bluetooth.

I mean to play songs on computer and listen to it by the cellphone.

Suppose if it could be happen then I don't need to buy bluetooth headsets for my laptop.

I can use my cellphone as a bluetooth headset.

thank you for considering this comment
